Here at The Queen’s Awards Office, we love to find out about all the Award presentations and celebrations going on around the UK, as winning companies are visited by their Local Lord Lieutenant and presented with their Grant of Appointment and crystal chalice.
Below are a couple that we would like to share with you.
Innovative Technology
Oldham based Innovative Technology celebrated their 3rd Queen’s Award last Friday with a visit from The Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester who presented David Bellis MBE and Aidan Towey with the Award.
Upon receiving the scroll, MD Aiden Towey said:
The Queen’s Awards are one of the most prestigious business accolades in the UK and we are honoured to have received the award this year. Being the 3rd Queen’s Award in the company’s history we wanted to mark the occasion with a party for all of our European staff, celebrating not only the Queen’s Award but three years’ of exceptional growth and record sales.
Marketing Executive, Dayna Patterson who organised the event said:
We wanted to arrange a really good party to celebrate our 3rd Queen’s Award and I think we achieved this. It is always great to bring staff from the UK, Ireland, Germany, Russia and Spain together. We all had a brilliant night and everyone went home with a commemorative coin marking the birth of HRH Prince George of Cambridge a fitting tribute to mark our Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2014.

Allstate NI
Another company to recently share their Award presentation ceremony was Allstate NI, who won in the category of Sustainable Development.
Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the County Borough of Belfast, Dame Mary Peters, presented the award to Allstate's Executive Vice President, Suren Gupta who said:
Winning the Queen's Award is a huge accolade for Allstate Northern Ireland and I am honoured for it to be presented by Dame Mary Peters. We operate in the global arena, not just in Northern Ireland, so winning an award of this stature further endorses the quality of work and the talent that is on offer here. Allstate's IT centre in NI has grown significantly since it opened in 1998 and, as a sign of Allstate's commitment to the region, we announced further growth last year and I'm pleased to say that we will be hiring for new positions in highly skilled research and development roles over the coming months.
During the event, Dame Mary Peters said:
I am delighted to present the Queen's Award to one of Northern Ireland's leading employers. Allstate NI has outstanding Human Resources practices and their people management style ensures a better quality of work-life for all of their employees. It is also a tribute to the hundreds of Allstate NI employee volunteers who have worked to create significant and sustainable improvements in the local community.
