Kwikbolt Ltd is one of 220 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise and one of 4 to be a double award winner. Announced today (Tuesday 21 April), Kwikbolt has been recognised for its excellence in Innovation and International Trade

Employing 8 people, Kwikbolt was set up in 2011 and design and manufacture temporary fasteners for the aerospace and defence industry. They have become the market leader of innovation and technology within the sector and have captured the US market in recent years.

What made you apply for a Queen’s Award for Enterprise?

We have always been aware that the top award in the UK for every aspiring business is the Queen’s Award. We applied as we had met the criteria, but we knew that the award with carry strong kudo’s in the USA which is a major market for us.

What has winning the Award meant for your business and staff?

We are very proud of our team and we see this award as recognition from all the hard work and effort the team have put in over the years. It is an external validation of all the good work we have been doing as a businesses, it makes our staff proud to be working for a double award winning business and it make me proud of the execution of a perfect business plan in a very tough market.

‘This award is recognition that the UK can inject innovation in a traditional market and go onto achieve high sales and growth via excellent engineering. From 3D metal printing to innovative designs the team worked hard to keep pushing to develop the best product in the world’ - Christian Wenczka | Commercial Director.

What can you do?

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the UK. The awards were first established in 1965 and since then over 7000 companies have achieved a Queen’s Award.

The awards celebrate the success of exciting and innovative businesses which are leading the way with pioneering products or services, delivering impressive social mobility programmes or showing their commitment to excellent sustainable development practices.
