23 July: A day to remember - part 1

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: Recipients, Visits

On one of the warmest days in the last 6 years, and hot on the heels of the new Royal arrival, we held an afternoon celebration for our 2013 winners as a ‘warm-up’ to the main event at Buckingham Palace.

Breaking from the tradition of an intimate gathering for the Enterprise Promotion winners, and encouraged by our Permanent Secretary, Martin Donnelly, we invited all the business winners too.

Martin Donnelly kicked off the event, welcoming everyone and congratulating them on their success. Secretary of State, Vince Cable, took over and expressed his great confidence that the business investment and enterprise of everyone in the room was making a real difference in getting the UK into good shape. Then followed the main business of the day – the presentations to the eight Enterprise Promotion winners.

Speeches done, everyone grabbed a drink and took the opportunity to network and celebrate their achievements. Some ‘willing volunteers’ gave us their thoughts on film - more on that and the main event at the Palace later in the week…
